Pack 62, Den 1 visited At Speed Motorsports on Tuesday, October 9th, learning about race cars and how to change a race car tire. The scouts sat in a 997 GT3 Cup Car, learned about every piece of that car and even learned how a pit stop works. Led by their scout master, Scott Hefty, Parents and Scouts were able to view the facility of At Speed Motorsports. "On behalf of Pack 62, Den 1; thank you for graciously opening up the ‘At Speed Motorsports’ shop to us on Tuesday and the refreshments and pictures of the racecar. The boys were very excited to learn about racecars and what a pit crew does at a race. The opportunity to sit in the racecar was the highlight for them. And of course the “big kids” were fascinated too" stated Scott. At Speed Motorsports is commited to the community and we strive to make our comminuty number one. Helping the scouts gain a badge and learning the workings of a race car was very enjoyable and At Speed would love to provide this again. The scouts were amazed by the race cars, and several even stated that they wish to become race car drivers when they grow up, due to their visit. Pictures of the event are below, and as always, check back for more events.
